The Warren County Fair served as the backdrop for what Dennis Shulman, the democratic candidate for New Jersey’s fifth district, is calling his “listening tour.” What Shulman heard was anxiety over gas prices, the housing market and Medicare.
“We’re very interested in what’s troubling the people of Warren County,” said Shulman. “We really do believe the county is looking for change.”
Shulman is running against incumbent Congressman Scott Garrett, R-Warren, who stopped by the fairgrounds earlier in the week. Shulman’s unique story as a blind rabbi has garnered national attention.
Jeffrey Toobin did a profile of Shulman for the New Yorker and Time Magazine has featured him as well.
